Sunday morning
Yesterday was my sister Shannon's birthday! She phoned the night before to see if I could watch her daughter Emily (2), so Steven (7), Troy and Shannon could go to the movies. Emily would have freaked out if I babysat there, but she loves going places with other people now.

We played in my back yard with my exercise ball. Sadly, the exercise ball now has a hole.

We went and visited my neighbours in the front. Their baby is three weeks old now, and she's so sweet. She was wearing an outfit I bought for her when we got there. Emily got bored after 10 minutes or so, so we went and played with toys at my house.
We watered my garden, and Emily watered herself and eventually stripped down to nothing and ran around with the hose till she slipped and needed cuddles from auntie. After that we went inside and watched a couple minutes of some random kids show and ate apple slices.
I ended up giving my sister my bike rack for the back of my car for her birthday present. Yes, a used birthday present. I was going to sell mine, and the other day she mentioned she wanted to buy one for the back of her car, she was really happy with it.
The grandfather in the front of the house was talking to me about the batch of kefir he has fermenting, and he's going to give me some started. It is supposed to be amazing for the body, but you have to get some from someone to start a batch, you can't really start it on your own. Theirs is more of a yogurt than the drink, and they use it in place of cream for sauces and use it in cakes and all kinds of things. It's great if you have issues with lactose. I'm curious to try it!
My co-worker called, and I'm taking care of her father in law for six or 7 hours today. I've already forgotten most of the rules for playing cribbage, I'll have to refresh my memory before I go over.
I went and weeded out some new weeds from my garden this morning, and all my peas have poked through the dirt now! The beans haven't come through yet though.

Oh.. the babies name is Vareni or something like that I think. She said that people who speak spanish have no problem saying it.
And isn't she sweet? As soon as my neighbour saw her, she said "She could be yours! She looks so much like you!". :D

i'm actually taking care of a potted bigonias and i'm surprised with the maintenance for it. the lady told me that when the petals turn brown to pick them off and new ones will take its place. thing is, they do that often... brown, i mean.

Oh yeah, begonias can be a pain in the arse.

jim's sister said they're the type that die and come back. the woman at the garden centre said the potted one i have, which can be hung, can stay alive through the winter though, with picking the petals and all. it was so stunning(that it brought on an emotion i didn't know flowers could) when i saw it at the garden centre that i plan to try and keep it alive through the year. jim's sister has a plant of her own, not as big or extravagant as mine though. that and she probably doesn't know about picking the petals or taking a flower and another taking its place.
