Pre-Birthday day
The day started with me finally getting my hair cut. The ends didn't need it as bad as my bangs, I've been cutting my own for a few months and that's just a crime. It looked so pretty afterward. If I was ever a bajillionaire, I'd want someone to straighten my hair every day.
Tim took me into DC and it turns out he took me for a tour of the Capitol Building. The only lame thing was that it was PACKED with people, and a huge school tour, so our tour guide cut our tour short, and then we got blocked by a girl in a wheelchair and we lost our tour! I asked a guard where they would have gone next, and she said downstairs, which was a lie. Downstairs was the exit and when we realized and went back up, she told us we weren't allowed to come back up and we lost our opportunity to do the tour. Bummer. What we saw was interesting. Tim said that he needed to start teaching me about the USA gov't system, since I lived in Canada for over 30 years and didn't learn theirs.
It was drizzly and cold outside, so between that and my sore ankle, we didn't go as many places as we would have liked. We jumped on the metro and found a place for coffee, and then went to where Tim had reservations for us, Georgia Browns. It was good, but not excellent. Neither of us were sure we'd go back. Good service though, and large portions, and really yummy peach butter and peach ice tea.
We thought about walking around DC for a bit after dinner, but we were both full (even though I didn't even eat half my dinner) and my ankle was hurting pretty bad.
It was an excellent day, even if it didn't turn out exactly how Tim was wanting. I enjoyed seeing the Capitol Building, and spending time with Tim, and just being out of Manassas.
Oh, and he brought me a big bouquet of red roses last night, so pretty. I feel loved.
ETA:It isn't actually my birthday, that is Saturday, we just wanted to celebrate today too. :)

Glad you had a good pre-birthday day... even with a few glitches... time spent together makes up for the glitches I'm sure :)
