happy birthday to ME!

mellybrellyI love birthdays. I noticed that this year, I wasn't really wanting a big to-do, maybe because I've been sick, maybe because I'm still feeling so blessed with the baby, who knows. It was a great day though.
Started with Tim bringing me breakfast in bed, just my normal breakfast, plus some apples and things, but it was sweet and considerate. We took Reagan to Sunday school, had coffee at Starbucks. Came home and had lunch, I fed the baby in bed and Tim brought me lunch in bed.
Headed to the outlet mall to look at dishes, since we are desperate for new dishes. Found a few we liked, took pictures. We have such a hard time making decisions on things. We both like fiestaware, but for now just want some corelle or something that won't kill us if it gets broken by the kids.
Reagan picked out some clothes at Justice, she has a visa gift card from grandma. I personally think that 99% of the stuff in Justice is UGLY, but that's probably just because I'm old. Bought me some new baking pans since mine are destroyed and horrible from so much use. I love the new ones, and they were on sale 2 for 1.
Came home for some teamwork to take care of Paxton, plus make smoothies (strawberries, bananas and hazelnut milk ~ so good), pancakes (that I threw flax meal, vanilla and brewer's yeast into), sunny side up eggs for R and I, scrambled for Tim. Bacon.
Also made my dairy free "frosting" which turned out really interesting. Just maple syrup, egg whites and cream of tartar, cooked in a (makeshift) double boiler. It looks like some kind of marshmallow fluff. Talked to my best friend and she says she makes something similar, just with frozen strawberries, egg whites and sugar, all whipped up. I want to make that and eat it by the bowlfuls.
Dinner included a ton of phone calls from Tim's parents, my parents, my sister, then after dinner my other sister, my best friend. Read my zillion wonderful birthday messages on facebook. Tim gave me a gift card to my favourite second hand book store and a cool thingy to hold coupons (plus the freezer, and some great cards).
Tim drove Reagan to meet her stepdad, I had a bath and Paxton played with his bug. Seriously, he hit his bug over and over again for about half an hour, till he started fussing. I talked to him from the tub and he looked at me with such surprise that I was there. I think he was so into the bug he didn't even realize I was in the room. He smiled at me for a while till he got bored and I got out of the tub. We both fell asleep on the bed, I woke when the phone was ringing, I was grabbing Paxton's body trying to "answer" him, but he isn't a phone.
Tim's home now, think I might see if he wants to watch some Amazing Race with me.
