I just found out a friend of mine left his wife and is filing for divorce. So bummed for them. He's now going carless, which means no more rides from the airport for me. (and it's all about me)

Reagan has been doing homework all morning. I gave some serious consequences (apparently losing her music is her currency) and she finally did all her work perfectly. She can do it really well when she knows she actually has to.

We scored a VCR on freecycle. We were just talking about how we wanted one, for some movies we have packed away. We probably just need to buy them on DVD or rip them eventually, but then the VCR was listed and I figured "Why the hell not!". Tim's going to pick it up this afternoon.

The other day someone was giving away over 60 BG cloth diaper inserts, I tried to get them, so I could split them up between me and a few other cloth diaperers, but they were gone by the time I got home. I'm her backup, pending pick up.

I made a roast chicken for dinner last night, so I have soup stock going on the stove and beans soaking on the counter. Soup for dinner tonight, with crusty bread.

Baby is fast asleep.. yay.

Reagan is almost done her AR reading, yay.

I'm going to get myself a cup of coffee.

Just did more of Reagan's homework with her, she got perfect on her double negatives work sheet and almost perfect on her math questions. (I'm personally impressed I figured out her math, they are doing it a new way) The only reason she got half marks on one is because she did her work wrong, but she got the right answer. There's NO reason she should be getting failing marks on her work sheets, she knows all the answers and flew threw them, it absolutely comes down to her 1) socializing and not paying attention, and 2) just not following instructions and 3) being messy, in my opinion. Her math work was all over the sheet, when I asked her to do it neatly it was perfect, looked awesome. I'm impressed. Hopefully she'll take this to school with her, she was so proud of herself. She made her dad do a smiley face beside her A when he marked it.

Brought her to Sunday school this morning and Tim and I went and worshiped at the god of consumerism, over at Target.

I'm noticing how strong the baby is getting, when he's on us he's able to pull from a lay to a sit, although he can't do it on the floor yet. He's climbing all over us and so proud of himself. He also thinks it's so funny to pull my bangs out of my headband (I'm growing them out).

Reagan's making frames for her and Paxton. At first I suggested one for Amelia, but then thought it would be sweet to have one for Paxton's room.

Roast chicken, potatoes and carrots for dinner!

Has been a great day.

Bad news: Paxton bit me today and twice last night

Good news: He doesn't have teeth yet

Bad news: He laughed at my reaction

Good news: I didn't freak him out with my reaction, a friend's baby went on a nursing strike when she scared him by her reaction to biting. Mine likes the boob too much.

Good news: Went for a walk around the neighbourhood with Reagan, Paxton and Tim

Bad news: Freezing cold wind, so we only went for a short one

Good news: Snowed today

Bad news: It's almost all melted already

Reagan's teacher sent home tons of her work, some of it she did okay on, some she did really well, quite a bit she failed, but for silly things like forgetting to use a capital letter, or not following the instructions (circling the word and not writing it, when the instructions said to do both), or spelling words, that she knows how to spell, wrong. I wrote out every single word she spelled wrong, or ones where all her letters are the same size, but the k or l should be taller. She'll practice writing those out and then I'll test her on them. Tim is reading over the sheets so he has a good idea of where she's making errors and he can help her study.

ETA: GOOD GOOD NEWS: Paxton has been asleep in his stroller for about an hour, hoping for another hour ;)

I took a bunch of pumpkin pictures with Paxton, after we carved our hallowe'en pumpkins this afternoon:

more under the cut )

I woke up feeling not great, again, so Tim took Reagan to Sunday school and Paxton and I stayed in bed and slept. Slept till early afternoon actually, and I'm glad I did because I'm starting to feel a bit better. I'm still way better than I was last week, but tired of this holding on.

Reagan and Tim studied her science and history, did her SOL testing website activities, Reagan wrote her journal and tidied her bedroom, and Reagan read her entire book she needed to read for Monday. I'm hoping we can get more organized and start homework on Friday night, to get it over with, do her SOL testing on Saturday, and have Sunday for fun.

I think our pumpkins turned out great, I'll have to take pictures this week. Reagan and I hung the ghost I made last year in the tree. The other day I cut out tons of tiny pumpkins from orange construction paper and I strung it on four long strands of dental floss and hung them in the big picture window in the living room.

Tim's driving Reagan to meet Michael right now, I think I'll probably be in bed a bit early tonight.

Reagan and I went out for a last little girls afternoon before baby comes. Since I can no longer really touch my toes properly, let alone paint them, I went and got a mini pedicure and I got Reagan's nails painted as well. They only charged $6 for Reagan's which rocked, and she had fun. The best part? The giant massage chairs we sat in while our feet were being done. My nails look all pretty, shimmery and dusky purple. Reagan's are purple sparkles. I had to laugh when I was reading a blog and a midwife said "I can tell when my moms are going to go into labour, when they show up with their nails done". Oh, please let it be!

Now the fun is continuing with math sheets! Wee! Heh, she's actually not being resistant to her work sheets this summer, and she already wrote her journal entry. As soon as she's done, we'll head over to Amy's for a swim. It's stinkin' hot here again. Not sure if it's in the 100's like it was last week, but it's plenty hot.

Tim tried to help Amy with fixing their pool pump, but it wasn't something they could do. The service people think it's something in the lines and they probably need to be flushed out. Bummer.

I'm sore today, probably from a busy day yesterday. Last night I could not get into bed. I could not lift my leg enough to actually do it. I finally had to sit down on the bed, and I still couldn't lift my legs, so Tim had to lift them for me. It hurt too bad to do one at a time, so he lifted both at once. It feels weird to be that helpless. I'm better during the day, but by bedtime, I'm just so sore. It is so good to have him by my side.

I keep having these weird thoughts that there isn't really a baby in me, that it's just a tumour, or that I'm never actually going to give birth, that the contractions will never start. It's silly, but it's my brain on drugs baby.

Made really good kabobs for dinner, thai-style, in spicy sweet and sour sauce, with rice, carrots and peas.

Reagan and I did over an hour and a half of math work and phonics work, and she did it without a complaint. She did tell me that her mom gives her a reward every time they do it, if she does it with a good attitude. I told her that was a great idea, but that we just expected a good attitude, and her reward is a trip to Kings Dominion at the end of summer. :) Oh, and a sticker on the calendar showing she did it. She was fine with that.

We did a grocery shop at Wegmans this afternoon, for our 4th of July food, along with all of Virginia. We are doing hotdogs, homemade burgers, salad, corn on the cob, potato chips. Dessert is going to be chocolate brownie with strawberries, blueberries and vanilla ice cream. Reagan and I made jello jigglers in the shape of stars, so we'll have some of those on it too. Her mom and step dad are invited to dinner tomorrow night, and to the fireworks, not sure yet if they are coming or not.

Went for a walk to the battlefield, saw a rabbit and then saw a groundhog.

Pretty nice day today with Tim and Reagan. Now it's bedtime and time for me to make brownies!

I just taught Reagan how to do Chinese skipping rope. Is that name still politically correct?? Man, I loved that game when I was a kid. I did a few and realized I get winded a little faster than when I was a kid!! Luckily I was smart enough to show Reagan how you can play with two chairs, so I wasn't stuck with my legs in skipping rope for hours. I'll have to remember more of the skipping songs, and teach them to her, so she can teach her friends at school. We were intense, we used to even put the skipping rope up around our shoulders! I have no idea how I jumped that high.

She has been so well behaved all weekend, which just makes it so much more fun around here. She's doing math games with her dad right now, with an awesome attitude. I asked her to clean something and she just said "sure!" and jumped up and did it. I think kids are honestly happier when they have nice boundaries and expectations laid out for them.

Her cousins are running late, but the house is nice and clean and I have coffee buzzing through my veins, so I think I'm ready!! Woohoo! Sleep-over time! Too bad it's raining!!
