Paxton Pumpkinhead
Oct. 24th, 2010 08:55 pmI took a bunch of pumpkin pictures with Paxton, after we carved our hallowe'en pumpkins this afternoon:

I woke up feeling not great, again, so Tim took Reagan to Sunday school and Paxton and I stayed in bed and slept. Slept till early afternoon actually, and I'm glad I did because I'm starting to feel a bit better. I'm still way better than I was last week, but tired of this holding on.
Reagan and Tim studied her science and history, did her SOL testing website activities, Reagan wrote her journal and tidied her bedroom, and Reagan read her entire book she needed to read for Monday. I'm hoping we can get more organized and start homework on Friday night, to get it over with, do her SOL testing on Saturday, and have Sunday for fun.
I think our pumpkins turned out great, I'll have to take pictures this week. Reagan and I hung the ghost I made last year in the tree. The other day I cut out tons of tiny pumpkins from orange construction paper and I strung it on four long strands of dental floss and hung them in the big picture window in the living room.
Tim's driving Reagan to meet Michael right now, I think I'll probably be in bed a bit early tonight.

productive Saturday
Oct. 23rd, 2010 01:31 pmI'm really proud of Reagan, last night I asked her to take a shower after her breakfast was done. I knew I'd still be sleeping and Tim might be too. She said fine, and I asked if she needed to write herself a note to remind herself, since it's easy to forget and showering is not her favourite thing so it's even easier to *forget*. She said no, she'd remember. Sure enough, I woke up and heard her in the shower! It's awesome because I want to work on her following directions and doing things she may not want to do that she needs to do (without an argument, since we don't need to fight authority on everything, just the important stuff).
Also impressed with my husband who got up, did laundry, made lunch for him and Reagan, and now he's on a ladder cleaning the way over due gutters! (and now mowing!!)
Reagan also made this awesome giant frankenstein out of paper, he's hilarious, holding his brain in his hand with a sword through it. I'll hang it outside on halloween. I want her to make a bride of frankenstein too.
I had to laugh though, a while back I bought these cheap straws at Target because they had umbrellas on them. Reagan was really excited about them and has used them a few times. I didn't really pay attention. Today she came rushing into my bedroom and said "Melanie, did you know that if you take the band off the straw it's AN UMBRELLA???????". Me, "Uh, yeah, that's why I bought them". (trying not to laugh) I just presumed she knew what they were and how to work them. She said she's going to remove one and use it as a hair piece for the bride of frankenstein.
Paxton spent his morning nursing and growing and sleeping and pooping and nomming his entire fist.
I spent my morning boob feeding, sleeping and changing poopy diapers and making my baby smile.
I was SO excited when I woke up at 7:15 and thought he had slept from 2. 5 1/4 hours! After high fiving Paxton a few times I remembered he woke up at 2, but that was just for 10 minutes to nurse. He actually slept so well last night, fell asleep probably around 12:00 or so, and then I tried to twilight nurse him but he decided he wanted to wake enough to nurse off and on till 2 am. Then woke again at 3, but like I said, was quick and then slept till MORNING. I fell back asleep and he just played beside me for an hour till he woke me to nurse again.
Reagan is now supposedly going outside to pull weeds in the front walkway. I'm going to dress Paxton and myself and go join her!

what a day!
Oct. 30th, 2009 11:46 pmGot up, drove Tim to work (almost an hour round trip), then picked Amy up, drove her to her eye specialist. Went grocery shopping, went back and picked Amy up, drove her to Safeway, drove her to Costco. Came home, put away groceries, put hot rollers in my hair, packed a picnic lunch and jumped in the car to go get Reagan.
Ended up at her school half an hour early, traffic was really light today. Pulled the rollers out of my hair, yes, I drove with them in. Had awesome curls. Got random compliments from other parents picking their kids up.
Reagan had an awesome week at school. She finished all her homework, finished most of her school work during school hours, listened, even wore jewelry today without fiddling with it and distracting herself all day. I told her I'd hem her "sparkly jeans" for her, I've been saving them for a reward for a good week.
Came home, custom fit Tim's vampire fangs, did Reagan's hair, did my hair, did my makeup, did Reagan's "makeup" (sparkly, almost clear, eyeshadow), put on my false eyelashes, black dress, fishnet stockings, 5" stilettos that have never been worn out of the bedroom till tonight.. my black lace fingerless gloves, clunky black jewelry, royal blue cape. I was hot, and I rarely think I'm hot.
Reagan was beside herself. She was almost speechless, then told me I was so "fashionable" and that my dress was "so sassy she couldn't handle it". She said she had never seen me looking like that. She was so adorable and it totally bumped up my self esteem. Tim was pretty into it too. Put my fangs in and was ready to go!
Fun party. Tons of food, loads of people, everyone looked great, had fun. I was told that I made a very good vampire. Hilarious since I'm so not a vampire person. Had lots of cleavage. The kids were wild, but fun. Kim's boys were both snuggling with me and giving me hugs, they are so sweet. Made a few new friends. Had such an excellent night. Love these friends.
Came home and made out with my husband on the couch and then had crazy wild amazingly awesome sex. Love that man so much.
Tomorrow will be cleaning, cleaning, cleaning since it's Hallowe'en and we have guests.
I think I need to go to bed!
