not so lazy sunday morning

I just found out a friend of mine left his wife and is filing for divorce. So bummed for them. He's now going carless, which means no more rides from the airport for me. (and it's all about me)

Reagan has been doing homework all morning. I gave some serious consequences (apparently losing her music is her currency) and she finally did all her work perfectly. She can do it really well when she knows she actually has to.

We scored a VCR on freecycle. We were just talking about how we wanted one, for some movies we have packed away. We probably just need to buy them on DVD or rip them eventually, but then the VCR was listed and I figured "Why the hell not!". Tim's going to pick it up this afternoon.

The other day someone was giving away over 60 BG cloth diaper inserts, I tried to get them, so I could split them up between me and a few other cloth diaperers, but they were gone by the time I got home. I'm her backup, pending pick up.

I made a roast chicken for dinner last night, so I have soup stock going on the stove and beans soaking on the counter. Soup for dinner tonight, with crusty bread.

Baby is fast asleep.. yay.

Reagan is almost done her AR reading, yay.

I'm going to get myself a cup of coffee.

We have a box of kid's movies, but I had a huge box of VHS tapes that I put at our vacation place (on Texada Island) cause we have a VCR there.

A few friends I've been able to stay friends with both people when they divorced, I like both these people. That's one reason it's nice to be far far away from home. Heh

My 2 BFFS in Canada are divorcing. It's a mess. I love them both dearly and it's killing me. I wanna fly home and knock some sense into him (He left) and get answers.

yeah, I want to knock sense into my friend too, since he left but I don't know what their issues were, if they were serious or not. I understand divorce needs to happen sometimes, but I think a lot of people realize the grass is not always greener.. I would only (hopefully) divorce very cautiously!

This is what I am worried about Troy. He survived cancer and I fear it's back again, so rather than stay and have Rhonda's help, he is baling. I dunno. Clearly,I am not the one with the answers, he is, but it kills me that he is NOT telling her what is going on in his head. 20 years they were together. That's half my life, dude!

People do sometimes run, that's a shame. I'd not only hate to lose my partner, I'd hate to lose someone who was also my good friend for that many years. It helps that Tim is really a good friend of mine, on top of my husband.

oh yes and my beloved disney ones...(which is why i am having a hard time letting them go...). I am not really into scary movies or things like that so they are all pretty safe for families - steel magnolias, my blue heaven, etc

Tim says no, we aren't adding to our VHS collection, or I'd take them ;) We'll buy all the Disney ones on DVD eventually. I gave my entire Disney collection to my sister for her kids. I'm sure they destroyed them.

I loooooove freecycle! Just gave away all our vhs movies ont her, and its nice to declutter useful items without having to leave the house. Yeah, if I can find a way to not leave my house in the winter, I will do it!
