My birthday party, last night, was just an amazing time. Nell, Judy, Brandi, Kevin, Rebecca, Lisa, Kelly, Jen were the main participants. One couple had the flu, another bunch didn't show, and two other (Katrina and her boyfriend Matt) were two and a half hours late, but the small group was just as fun. There was yummy food and pop ~ made me feel young ;)...

Brandi had planned games. I'm sometimes unsure how games will go over, but this was proof that anything can be fun if the right people are there with the right attitude. First we played "who am I" where you have a band or a musician taped to your back and you have to figure out who you are. I whipped through my first three quick, but Garth Brooks stumped me for a while. I think the next game was "ask a question", where I had to point to people and ask them a question and they had to lie! If they were too slow or if they told the truth (very difficult not to, actually) then they had to act out an animal, that Nell had written down. She's so funny. She had written down things like jellyfish, drunk unicorn, shy turtle, armadillo. It was so funny to watch. For some reason acting out eeyore almost made me cry I was laughing so hard.
Nell brought a Ukulele, so we could, uh, sing. Brandi asked if she could even play it, the answer? No, but she did anyway! :D

We opened presents, which I'll show pictures of later, and then went downstairs for brandi's present. She had made a slide kind of presentation of her and I over the years. Pictures of us together, pictures of me and her kids, pictures that I wished didn't exist.... ;) (some of them anyways). I was fighting tears and at the end she talked about how I was her best friend and she cried and I got teary and it was all emotional and wonderful. She wants to bring me jewellery from her trip to Mexico too, but really that meant the world to me.
I'm thinking I'm forgetting a game, but I could be wrong. Ooh yes, we played straw and pretzel, kind of like "suck and blow" where you pass a card via mouth. Each person had a straw and the teams had to pass pretzels along the lines without dropping it. My team, all kids who grew up in youth group, kicked ass. :P

awful self portrait of me all emotional ;)

Rebecca, after finding out a secret about me. Oops, managed to hide that secret for a year and a half almost..

Nelly made me an very yummy cake

She didn't realize the whipping cream would need to be re-whipped, but I liked the effect. She made all the little marzipan flowers. She's a sweetheart.
I feel blessed to have the friends I do. I had a phone call during the night from someone else who means so much to me also. I know that I am blessed beyond measure and I am grateful. I wish that so many other people I love could have been there too, but these things don't always work out. I hope that
dotcombabe had a very wonderful b'day party too! She throws a fun party and is the best hostess. I wish I could gather everyone I love and adore into one room and let them know how much they mean to me.
