I woke up and thought "What the hell are the neighbour kids doing screaming in the pool this early" and then I looked at the clock and realized I slept till 10:30. I need to cherish these days :P

Reagan and I went and joined them in the pool. I brought a giant plate of watermelon, but need to invest in some plastic platters so I can put things pool side. Reagan was the only kid really eating the watermelon, but oh well, it's there. The grownups like it too. Last week strawberries and cantaloupe were the big hit.

Home for some lunch, for Reagan to write her journal, maybe figure out dinner and head back to the pool. Tim had a band to go see tonight, and if he does that, I think I'll take Reagan to Amy's and we are going to watch something to do with True Blood (it starts again tomorrow night) and the girls will watch a movie upstairs.

It is a gorgeous day in Virginia!!

The heat is making me very uninterested in doing anything right now.

We went up the mountain, and rode the chair lift to the top. It was such an amazing view. We walked around for a bit, at the top, and then rode it down. We really wanted to feed the Whiskey Jacks (birds) because they land on your hands, but they were no where to be seen, way too hot. No birds, too many horse flies.

We went to the pool for a couple hours, after a smoothie at Zen Zero. The wave pool was pretty fun, the waves are really big! Brandi and Avery were there as well.

Dinner with the family tonight, now I'm just melting on our bed, wishing for AC or cooler weather. Almost time for Reagan to go to bed, Tim needs to do homework and I think I might have a cold bath. Heh. Need to shave my legs and get ready for the wedding.

I hurt my hip the other day, no idea how, and it's really stiff and sore. What a drag.

I'm too warm.

The heat here is intense, apparently it's some kind of a record. Hoping it cools for Saturday, but weather is calling for even hotter weather.

I got my hair done today, Rebecca bought me a gift certificate for it, for my bridal shower, which was such an awesome gift. Weddings are so expensive, every bit helps! So nice to see Elton, he's maybe coming to DC next fall, and I've invited him to go to dinner with us when he does, and offered our home to him and his family if they want to stay a couple nights.

I stopped in to see my friend Judy really quickly this afternoon, on the way back, and then Tim, Reagan and I went to the water park at Lewis park with Brandi and Avery, and Judy and her kids ended up coming too.

Dinner with my parents and brother, and then Reagan ran through the sprinkler for a bit.

We are melting. I miss AC.

woohoo!

First memorial weekend ever.

We went and bought new sunscreen, a small grill (really inexpensive, but perfect for here!), and I'm so excited for summer.

The pool opened today, Tim and I had fun swimming around, Reagan was driving us nuts because she was being a wuss at the edge of the pool, refusing to go out past 2 feet. Finally I threatened her, and told her that we were going to return the pool passes if she didn't get in the water. Apparently this is year three of spending the entire summer in 1 feet of water, and we are getting over it ;)

She climbed on me and clung to my front. We hung out at 3 feet for a while and eventually worked over to 5 feet. She eventually had a lot of fun, which was a great step forward.

We were in the water for almost 2 hours!

Tim just made a bunch of kabobs and I made chocolate brownies, which we'll have with fresh strawberries. Yum.

I feel really grateful today, grateful for the sun, for a pool, for my family, for all the things I've been blessed with, like clean water and clean air, many people who love me.

perfect

and that was what I needed... a strong two hour hike with a friend. Most of it was along a river, which was raging! The snow in the mountains must finally be melting! The rapids were insane! I saw a kayaker flip over in front of me and flip himself back upright. Scary!!!

What an amazing afternoon. I feel so happy (still sick, but happy) I feel peace.

Spent the afternoon talking to friends on m.s.n. while the kids all slept. I woke the baby up and she was so sweet. Nothing like waking a little one who smiles and kisses you before she even has her eyes open.

Went outside and sat in the sun, soaking in the warmth. Looked at my clamatis that is in full bloom, three more are getting ready. My apple tree has blossoms!!! The first year it had no blossoms, second year they were all picked and sprinkled on the road by neighbour children, and last year no flowers. I am excited with the hope of finally an apple - I would be happy with ONE!

Rhodo's are in full bloom, hanging baskets are hung. Just have to start weeding (which is not my fav.) This year I am planting pole beans and pole beans and pole beans!!!

Yay for gardens! Yay for spirit being lifted! Yay for sun!
