in and out

Bathing suit shopping. Hate it. Went to Lane Bryant and picked up their most expensive ones that promised to make me look like I lost 10 lbs. Would have paid double if it made me look like I lost 50. Turns out it was 30% of.. not 30% less of me, but cheaper is better! Second suit fit great, thank goodness. Done, in and out in 15 minutes. Now off to baby tot and splash class.

My post earlier, I forgot to write my point, which was that I've worked in retail so many times and a little bit of kindness and sympathy go a long way, even if there is nothing you can do for the person. Being apologetic or at least sympathetic can make the person feel so much better. Hell, even just being polite is easier on a frazzled customer than barking at them rudely.

I also didn't add that when I hung up I yelled the f word about 5 times in frustration. :(

I love that child.

I just looked over and saw her journal and you know what I love more than that she now spells properly, uses punctuation, and has pretty much perfect penmanship (after a lot of work!), is that she ends her journal with fin, in script. It's just so cute.

Also, she keeps making suggestions to me, for things we should do, but she starts the conversation out with a long convoluted preemptive reminder about how she knows I will be tired after having a baby, and maybe sore, etc, and how her great grand idea for something can do can happen 2 years down the road.. you know, when the baby is a toddler and I have more energy. It's really too cute and too considerate. I've tried to let her know that I will hopefully be ready for things sooner than later, but without discouraging her consideration of me ;)

I baked some banana chocolate chip cookies this morning, used 60% bittersweet chocolate chips, so yummy. Made them mostly for Tim, but I like them too.

Eating some lunch and then I'm going to maybe go swim for a bit. My lower back is sore and tight and I think the exercise will loosen me up.

My due date is tomorrow! Full moon tonight! No idea when this baby will come.

The heat is making me very uninterested in doing anything right now.

We went up the mountain, and rode the chair lift to the top. It was such an amazing view. We walked around for a bit, at the top, and then rode it down. We really wanted to feed the Whiskey Jacks (birds) because they land on your hands, but they were no where to be seen, way too hot. No birds, too many horse flies.

We went to the pool for a couple hours, after a smoothie at Zen Zero. The wave pool was pretty fun, the waves are really big! Brandi and Avery were there as well.

Dinner with the family tonight, now I'm just melting on our bed, wishing for AC or cooler weather. Almost time for Reagan to go to bed, Tim needs to do homework and I think I might have a cold bath. Heh. Need to shave my legs and get ready for the wedding.

I hurt my hip the other day, no idea how, and it's really stiff and sore. What a drag.

I'm too warm.

woohoo!

First memorial weekend ever.

We went and bought new sunscreen, a small grill (really inexpensive, but perfect for here!), and I'm so excited for summer.

The pool opened today, Tim and I had fun swimming around, Reagan was driving us nuts because she was being a wuss at the edge of the pool, refusing to go out past 2 feet. Finally I threatened her, and told her that we were going to return the pool passes if she didn't get in the water. Apparently this is year three of spending the entire summer in 1 feet of water, and we are getting over it ;)

She climbed on me and clung to my front. We hung out at 3 feet for a while and eventually worked over to 5 feet. She eventually had a lot of fun, which was a great step forward.

We were in the water for almost 2 hours!

Tim just made a bunch of kabobs and I made chocolate brownies, which we'll have with fresh strawberries. Yum.

I feel really grateful today, grateful for the sun, for a pool, for my family, for all the things I've been blessed with, like clean water and clean air, many people who love me.
