Hmm, I almost wish I didn't get the internet figured out, it was nice to not be online for a couple days. Last night I got bored and ended up reading the anon communities, and even joining one because someone on my list was being trash talked there and she linked to it, but I couldn't see it. I'll probably delete it soon. It's too tempting to get sucked into it.

My sister's cat ignores her children, but has been really interested in Paxton. He doesn't care about him when he's up and crawling around, but I've caught him sleeping in the baby's spot on the bed a couple times (so now the door is closed). Two nights in a row, when the baby woke up fussing, the cat was actually scratching on the door trying to get in to see him. I think he's probably just confused, concerned and interested.

The baby is so sick, I feel bad for him. This morning I was worried, he was coughing so much, was so stuffed up and was pulling on his ear, but I think he was just tired and tugging at his ear because he stopped doing it. I'm not sure if it's worth it to buy one of those nose sucker things for his stuffy nose. Do they work? He's a bit red around his nose, probably raw from the runny nose and being wiped. He's napping now. Him being sick is going to put a damper on visiting people, but that's fine. I actually only have plans to visit Brandi tonight and nothing else set in stone. There's people I want to see, but last visit I was visiting 3 houses a day and I was exhausted. Can't do that to Paxton this time. Hope bubby feels better soon.

aww I hope the sweetie feels better soon! :( Did you guys get a lot of snow there?? It's finally getting a little nicer here and you're getting the snow there. >:o

there's a teeny bit of snow on the ground, but barely any. Keeps going between rain and snow!

I'm realizing now it's best to just avoid those coms in general now. It gets really cliquey and high schoolish. They were kinda fun and amusing when I started reading them in like 2008 and it's now getting ugly and repetitive. Stickin to booj when I feel like it is pretty much it for me (and domestic snark, which is pretty amusing, but kinda inactive).

Oh read the bit about the snot sucker. It pissed off my goddaughter a great deal, but I think it helped. I have no idea how the thing works exactly, though. I always had visions of the babies' head half collapsing and popping back or something, but I'm one for hyperbole when it comes to new things. =P

Yeah, I was interested in the anon communities in the summer, till I saw a bunch of people dogpiling one poor mom, now I usually only look when I get linked to it! I should delete it. Who needs the negativity on their friendlist.

lol@ your vision of the snot sucker.

The nose suckers worked wonders for my kids. Made them scream like crazy when I did it, but got a lot of junk out.

he's screaming at the kleenex, so I can imagine he'd hate the snot sucker too! Good to know it works, might have to pick one up. I'm giving him some baby advil, he has a bit of a fever, but I need to figure out what works better for fevers, tylenol or advil.

I have heard really wonderful things about this version:

http://www.amazon.com/Nosefrida-The-Snotsucker-Nasal-Aspirator/dp/B00171WXII/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1299357323&sr=8-3

I never saw it when my kids were younger, but friends now with young kiddos LOVE this thing.

Tylenol is less powerful than Advil, so my doc always suggested I start with that and only move on to the Advil if things got worse. Usually Tylenol does the trick for us, unless they get SUPER sick with super high fevers.

oh interesting, last night I was debating putting a straw in his nose and sucking, that looks WAY better than my idea ;) I'll see if any stores carry something similar.

Also good to know about the tylenol. I only have Advil right now and his fever isn't going much lower with it, so I'll just stick with it for now.

Makes sense. I hope he recovers soon. I hate it when the beebs aren't feeling well.

Me too, and it's extra stressful because I'm not positive how my insurance works if I'm out of the country. I know I'm covered, but I think I have to pay and get paid back and who knows how much that would cost!

It was a low moment, but I'm serious. I would have done anything to help him breath.

You'll probably never kiss me again.

awww poor baby! The boys generally hated the snot sucker, but it *really* helps, especially if you get saline nose drops in there first to loosen things up/thin the mucus out. :)

puking all the milk through his nose seemed to clear it a bit, but I will be buying one for his next cold for sure!

i was tempted to add that community but it seems so drama filled and hate riddled =( maybe for a little while? LOL

and poor kid. if you do get the nasal aspirator, make sure to hold one side of his nose down! i didn't know this til i saw it in the p101 site!

oh smart, I might not have thought about that with the aspirator!

My cats are really attracted to noise. Especially the one who is less smart. She actually skipped dinner the other night because people were making noise in the corridor outside my apartment, and she was too distracted to eat.

Poor baby, I hope he feels better soon. It seems like a lot of parents I know are dealing with earaches right now.

He was scratching at the door again last night, he must just be so curious!

if he is pulling on his ear he may have an ear infection - it is a common presentation in babies.
bulb syringes do work well - i have a friend that has as an electric one that she loves.
i hope all feel better soon!

He's an ear tugger when he's tired too, so it was hard to tell at first, but it was just his normal ear tugging. No infection, thank goodness!!

awww...poor baby. I never heard of the snot sucker before. Sounds like something I would not have liked as a baby but hey...he won't remember it in a few years anyway :)
