GROSSNESS

I forgot to write about the disgusting thing that happened yesterday. Work has an ant problem that we keep under control with vacuuming every day, keeping food in the kitchen and ant poison.

I had a bag of cherries in my diaper bag, didn't think anything of it. It wasn't a sealed bag, it's the kind you buy fruit in that has little holes.

Yesterday I grabbed my diaper bag, got in the car and wondered why my diaper bag smelled like dirty diaper. I reached in and fished around and found the bag of cherries (which would have still been good) and there were hundreds of ants all over it, some of which fell on me!

I freaked, threw my diaper bag, started trying to wipe ants off of me. Tim came out and checked me over, I had to pull the floor mat out of the car because it was covered, I squished a ton of ants that were running all over the doors and windows. We spent the rest of our drive squishing random ants that found their way up to the dashboard.

Lesson learned: Only sealed containers at work.

Hey - tell your boss to look up the cornmeal/borax mixture that you can use to keep ants out of the building. You spread a line of it along the foundation. It works like a charm!!!

That's a good idea.. the building is really old and built right on the ground, so ants come up all over the place!
