Reagan has been a rock star! She listened so well all day yesterday and helped so much. Today I wrote a list of things that needed to get done, and when I was off nursing Paxton she wrote an R beside any of the jobs she could do, and that was all but two. She cleaned her bedroom, emptied the dishwasher, emptied all the garbage cans around the house (I did the one in our bedroom), read, brought the recycling to the curb, put the garbage bag out in the can, and we made a sun-dial together for her class assignment. The only thing she has left to do is write her journal entry!

We went to Sunday School this morning, well, Reagan went and I tried to go to church but Paxton was too interested in the teenagers sitting behind me and was chattering at them, so I watched the sermon from comfy chairs in the lobby till I got bored (quite quickly). I headed to the nursery but I didn't want to drop Paxton off, so I was letting him watch babies from the window and they said I could go in with him. There were about 7 babies in tears, so I sat on the floor and played peek-a-boo with them. One teacher was holding two babies and the other was holding one. One climbed up on me, and the teacher said it was fine for me to hold him. I ended up holding two crying babies while Paxton cruised the room. Eventually he realized I was holding babies and was only okay with it if I was holding him too. He was so funny, he's been copying sounds lately, and he was fake crying. It wasn't his whine and it wasn't a cry and he wasn't upset, but he was definitely making a crying sound. Made me laugh.

We are doing crash potatoes for dinner tonight, with sausages and veggies. It was supposed to be roast chicken, but my chicken didn't thaw enough, I'll make it tomorrow in the crock pot instead. Reagan talked me into buying a tin of eel at the grocery store, so we are eating that with dinner. I love roasted eel, lets see how tinned eel holds up.......

Talked to Tim this morning, all night I kept checking my email to see if he had contacted me. I came up with crazy theories that ranged from him being totally fine with no internet available to him being kidnapped to him having an affair. Gotta love a tired brain. My first thought was right, that there wasn't internet set up in his room yet, no way of phoning or texting me. He emailed me by 7 am my time and phoned around 8:30 am. I have the hotel # now, so I can call him when I like. I didn't realize he had sent it to me previously, or I would have just called in the night to see if he had at least checked in. Worried wife. :)

oooh, I think jet lag just hit. If not jet lag, then just real serious tiredness from traveling.

I think it will be to bed early for me tonight! Although.. Tim and I do have 3 episodes of Lost to watch.

Long trip. Getting across the border was actually very simple. I was nervous, but the man who processed me was so friendly, and I had all this extra info and he just said nope, he had what he needed (my parole papers to let an alien back into the country, sounds nice doesn't it!). He told me that it will be even more simple with my green card next time. Did I mention my green card arrived?

I found out in Vancouver that the girl in Comox didn't check my bags all the way to Virginia. I had an hour to get off the plane, get my bags, get on a bus in LAX, go to a different terminal, go through security again, check my bags, get my ticket and get on my flight. Not happening. I ended up in tears, frustrated, and they retagged my bags for me in Vancouver so they'd go all the way to VA. Good thing too, because I ran through the airport and I still just got to my flight as they were loading.

Sat beside a baby on my second flight, she was 9 months and kept her hand up the arm of my shirt for most the flight. She was sweet.

The third flight was the hardest. It was the one I ran to, I had to pee but had a window seat and two old people sleeping beside me and I didn't want to disturb them. I was so uncomfortable, just wanted to sleep. Arrived in Va at 7:30 VA time.

So good to see Tim. I love him so much. I saw him walking through the airport and my heart jumped a little. He took me out for breakfast since I was so hungry. My bags didn't make it from LAX, but the airport is delivering them tonight.

I slept for a little bit this morning, but not enough. I'll try to sleep a little more this afternoon. I'm guessing Tim will be working late because he crawled into bed with me for a while. So nice to be home with him.

I'm really happy I got my hair cut, but it's kind of sad too. I told Elton to take off what he thought, and my hair went from being at my waist to being just below half way down my back. I thought he took about 3", but I think it's more like 5" or more. Oh well, it feels really healthy and Tim says it looks good, I just miss it being so long.

Last night Tyler gave us our wedding present, a nice gift certificate for a restaurant called The Avenue. It's by the same people who started The Atlas. Would have been awesome for a romantic dinner, but I figured we'd be bringing Reagan, and I thought it would be nice to bring my parents, as a thank you. Despite all the drama, they've done a ton of work in their yard, mom has made an insane amount of desserts, and they have been pretty easy going hosts. They've been wonderful with Reagan, getting her breakfast in the morning and letting us sleep in a bit. We'll go tomorrow night.

Man, just not enough time around here. I want to go see Nico and Naomi, go to the spit, go to Miracle beach, go to the lake. We are going up the mountain this morning and then going to the pool, then dinner and then probably to the beach again, but if Nico and Naomi are around (hi guys :)) I might see if tonight works. We also want to go for walks in the nature park. Friday and Saturday will be wedding stuff and then we are gone to Texada Island for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and then they fly out Wednesday morning!! I have tons of time after that, but there's so much I want Tim and Reagan to see!!!

Last night I squeezed juice from 51 key limes, they are so tiny and hard! I made two pans of key lime squares for the wedding, I hope they are delicious. I made them especially for Tim. I also wrapped our favours last night, American and Canadian smarties, now I just need to tie them with ribbon and attach little tags with our names.

My shower was so fun, I really couldn't have asked for more. Tons of fun games, loads of friends, got to see [livejournal.com profile] alena_griffiths, and meet her baby, but so many people, it was hard to really connect, so we'll hang out again, and she'll be at the wedding. I got some great gifts, gift certificates for manicures, hair cut, and eyebrow tinting and waxing. Lots of fun things. One naught gift, plus lingerie. Yummy food, yummy friends.

This morning I hung out with my sister Amanda, and all her 4 kids. Tried their clothes on them for the wedding, they'll look so cute. Played with Aaron, tried to get him to understand I'm his auntie. Hahah, he's 10 months, but by the end he realized I was fun. Isaac's chin dropped when he saw me, at 2.5 years old, I don't think he really *got* it, that I was in town. Mattheus (5) thought they were going to Virginia to see me.

Went to get Tim and Reagan at the ferry, it was so nice to ride across by myself and just rest. So busy this week. Wonderful to see Tim and Reagan, I missed them so much! Reagan loves Canada, says it's just like Virginia. Heh. Tim slept the for the ferry ride, long day for them. Reagan and I went up on the outer deck on the ferry, ate yam fries, and hung out. Reagan slept the whole way home, and we stopped at The Atlas for some dinner, and she was too tired to eat, but was super excited by the time we arrived at my parents, and she put on quite the show for them. Doing a fake southern accent, running fast in circles.. on and on. So funny.

Tim's putting her to bed now, he'll do some homework I'm guessing and then probably bed. We are tired! He must be just exhausted. Can't wait to spend the next week and a half with them here!

I was so scared that my travel health insurance wouldn't actually cover the $400 I had to pay for medication when I had bronchitis a couple months ago, but they did, every penny! Thank goodness, cause I had put it all on my visa, so that's finally paid off. I didn't have to pay anything for my doctor visit, not even a co-pay, and they offered to send a doctor to my home here.

So, if you are Canadian, traveling across the border, I totally recommend RBC travel health insurance. (and I don't even get credit for sales anymore!)
