I love Reagan's sense of humour, and the way she just says the sweetest things sometimes.

Today at lunch

me: how's your sandwiches guys? (her and Amelia)
Reagan: really good!
me: excellent!
Reagan: AS ALWAYS!!

Then the other week she was putting her new boots on and asked if they were on the right feet. I looked over and said her zippers were on the outside, and shouldn't they be on the inside?

Reagan: No, these ones zip on the outside
me: weird, all my boots when I was a kid had an inside zip
Reagan: Welcome to the future Melanie. Welcome. To. The. Future.

I still feel pretty craptastic today, but better than yesterday. Sweating like mad, but no fever. Amelia came over this morning and they've been playing all day. It's so nice that I can leave the baby with them while I shower, they kept him entertained.

Tim is side-railing the crib right now, which is excellent. Will make for a lot more room in the bed, since I tend to sleep in the middle now to make room for baby and then have room to make sure he isn't at the edge of the bed. Means Tim gets the other edge of the bed. He's been so good about it, but I think he is liking the roominess of the futon downstairs way too much the last couple nights. I miss my husband when he isn't in bed with me.

I just wrote out all the books I've read so far, and my reading really stopped in July when the baby was born. A few times I've climbed into the bath with a book, in the last couple weeks, but then once I'm in there I just want to close my eyes and rest. I probably need some new books, the problem might be that I'm attempting to read the only book I haven't read in the house, one Tim's mom gave me that is about a puppy.. just not my kind of book. I'm tempted to read it just to see if it's appropriate for Reagan, and give it to her if it is.

Chicken soup for dinner. Hopefully on the mend. I was pretty sad to miss the big baby wearing fun in DC today! Thanksgiving in Canada, I don't think I'll do a turkey, think I'll do what I did last year and roast some Cornish Game Hens. We are invited to a few Thanksgiving things in the area, but I don't think I want to pass my sickness to a bunch of Canadian strangers.

I gotta tell you about this sick with kid story. Myr was about Pax's age and I got the flu with the sharp, shooting abdominal cramping for the first time ever. I also had a high fever and aches and chills. Worst flu I have ever had. I could not get off the couch. I spent 3 days only able to drink apple juice. But i couldn't sit up. 3 days laying on the couch, avoiding my newborn to not get her sick and drinking apple juice out of a sippy. Thank god for sippy cups! I'm not sure how myr got taken care of that week at all.

Reminds me of my oldest nephew. He asked my brother if he could stay in the van instead of getting groceries once.

"No, someone might snatch you."
"No one would snatch me, I'm annoying." LOL

We pretty much decided on the twin bed upstairs being where I'm gonna spend a LOT of time next spring. Joe will get a little spoiled with a king sized bed to himself, except the three tiny chihuahuas tend to take up half the damn bed most of the night. =P

It really is so easy to cosleep with your baby, if you are thinking about it. Tim is the one who encouraged me to do it, I was nervous, but it's so wonderful and since I'm breastfeeding, it's great. I wake up before he even gets upset, we fall back asleep really quickly!

Oh I probably COULD pull it off, as I've been sleeping with my 12lb chihuahua since 2000 and I wake up any time I shift position. Now I have THREE of them in the bed currently, so I take stock of where everyone is before I move so I'm very conscious. However, it'd be a smaller bed up there that probably transfers motion badly, and I do move a lot, hence why I sleep crappily. LOL

Poor thing. I really hope you feel better soon. I haven't been ill in a while (which means I probably will this week), but there was a period where I got *everything* due to pregnancy or the baby-germ-magnet.

I'm only now getting back into reading non-parenting books (and many of those books were read in the bathroom!). Don't worry, it all comes back in its own time. :)

I was so lucky not to get sick during my pregnancy, I guess my body thought the constant puking and everything else was enough ;)

Being sick with kids sucks the big one, doesn't it?

The only way I got reading done in the early days with the boys was to read while feeding them - usually in the middle of the night. hahah DO NOT recommend! :P

Now I read on the toilet. Not that they let me much. hahah
