RAGE

I have had the worst customer service at Air Canada twice now. Both times, women who sounded like they were in their 50's and like they hated their jobs.

Today I called Expedia, since the website won't let me assign my seats and it says to phone for help. Expedia said they couldn't do anything and I had to call Air Canada. I waited on hold with Air Canada for about 20 minutes (which is better than the 3 hours when I was in Canada last time), and then the snarky woman I got wouldn't look up my flights for me. She told me my flight confirmation was in my email, but it wasn't, I offered to read it to her. She was so harsh and not at all friendly. She was so barky at me every time I asked a question, that I finally said "You are so aggressive!". She freaked out and told me "Ma'am I AM JUST BEING PROFESSIONAL". Uh, no you aren't. Finally she told me that she could alternately look up my flight with the credit card I used, so I said "Oh good! I'll get it, but you'll have to wait because it's downstairs". I wasn't rude. She says "Look who is being aggressive now". OMG I said, "that was not aggressive!" I stopped and asked her for her manager and she hung up on me. LSLKFJLSKDJF

I had to call Expedia back, sit on hold, get my flight number, call Air Canada back, sit on hold, and the guy I got was super helpful. Then I had to call Continental to get my seats for the way home. I was on hold for 26 minutes, the woman looked at my flight and said "I'm transferring you to international" before I could say anything more, put me on hold again and the recording told me it would take approximately 20-25 minutes. I hung up.

Have I mentioned that I hate airlines.

Not exactly big problems, in the grand scheme of things, but omg, I hate airlines. I'll try again this afternoon, because then I should have 2 hours to waste on the phone. Oh wait, 9 month old baby, no I won't.

Bathing suit shopping. Hate it. Went to Lane Bryant and picked up their most expensive ones that promised to make me look like I lost 10 lbs. Would have paid double if it made me look like I lost 50. Turns out it was 30% of.. not 30% less of me, but cheaper is better! Second suit fit great, thank goodness. Done, in and out in 15 minutes. Now off to baby tot and splash class.

My post earlier, I forgot to write my point, which was that I've worked in retail so many times and a little bit of kindness and sympathy go a long way, even if there is nothing you can do for the person. Being apologetic or at least sympathetic can make the person feel so much better. Hell, even just being polite is easier on a frazzled customer than barking at them rudely.

I also didn't add that when I hung up I yelled the f word about 5 times in frustration. :(

pool!

Oh, the baby loved the pool so much!! As soon as we were in the water and he realized he could splash, he was kicking and his arms were going and he was grabbing at toys and splashing all over the place. He'd flip around in my arms from front to back and then back to front. Got his face wet a bunch of times and didn't care. He went strong for an hour and then started to crash. I was shocked he loved the shower too, put his face in it, was reaching into it with his hands. He nursed and then was asleep in my arms. Slept the whole way home from the pool, and I think he would have slept longer if I hadn't woken him by accident.

I'm pretty tired too! Momma has pizza dough to make though.
